Business Development Manager - Microsoft Business Applications

Position Detail:

Upzoids is seeking a proactive, results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive net-new B2B sales within the Microsoft ecosystem. This role is focused on identifying opportunities, opening doors with target accounts, building trusted relationships, and creating qualified pipeline across public sector, not-for-profit, and enterprise clients in North America.

This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in outbound and consultative selling, understands solution-based sales cycles, and is comfortable engaging decision-makers across both direct and partner-led opportunities. You will work closely with leadership, Microsoft MVPs, and technical experts to shape early opportunities and bring qualified deals into the sales process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities through direct outreach, partner referrals, events, Microsoft ecosystem relationships, and targeted account development.
  • Build and execute outreach into named accounts and priority industries, with a strong focus on creating qualified pipeline.
  • Drive first meetings, early discovery, and opportunity qualification with prospective clients.
  • Work closely with leadership to transition qualified opportunities into solution discussions, proposal development, and later-stage sales activities.
  • Revive dormant opportunities and maintain consistent follow-up across target prospects and priority accounts.
  • Support partner and channel follow-up, including Microsoft co-sell opportunities and ecosystem-driven introductions.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and delivery leaders to understand Upzoids’ strengths and position relevant services effectively.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline activity, and opportunity notes to support visibility and forecasting.
  • Represent Upzoids at conferences, community events, user groups, and industry forums to generate and advance opportunities.

Sales Context

  • Solutions: Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power Pages, and UpCity 365
  • Industries: Municipalities, public sector, regulatory bodies, not-for-profits, and enterprise organizations
  • Deal Types: New implementation projects, modernization initiatives, managed services, and support subscriptions
  • Sales Sources: Direct outreach, Microsoft referrals and co-sell motions, RFP and RFQ follow-up, events, and channel partnerships

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or pipeline generation, preferably in IT consulting, Microsoft services, or cloud/SaaS solutions
  • Proven track record of generating qualified pipeline and meeting or exceeding business development or revenue targets
  • Strong consultative selling skills, especially in early-stage discovery and qualification
  • Experience working across complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Confidence engaging senior decision-makers and building credibility quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including outreach, presentations, and follow-up
  • Comfortable working closely with technical teams to understand solution fit and position services effectively
  • Experience using CRM systems for pipeline tracking, activity management, and reporting

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in Microsoft partner sales, co-sell motions, or Microsoft ecosystem selling
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Power Pages use cases
  • Experience selling into public sector, municipal, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with professional services, managed services, or project-based consulting sales
